Even though many of us were strangers to her in her first year at Pottersville she agreed to advise us and has unselfishly qiven of her time and effort during the past four years. She has defended us on many occasions hut has never been afraid to state her opinion when she felt we were wrong. We hone that this dedication will express the gratitude which we feel. John J an LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We, the Class of 1969, students of Pottersvi 11 Central School, located in the town of Pottersvilie, County of Warrpn, Statp of Npw York, being of sound (and pducated) minds, and of a disoosina and bpnpficpnt memory, do make, ordain, oublish, and dpclarp this to bp our last Will and Testament, hprpby rpvoking all formpr wills and codicils. To thp Board of Education wp bpqupath our gratitude, appreciation, and sincprp thanks for thpir continuous intprpst, concprn, and financial support. To thp Administration and Faculty wp 1p3vp with confidpncp and pridp thp apnrpciativp, studious, pagpr lparnprs following us class ...... aftpr class aftpr class .... And individually, wp wish to makp thp following pprsonal mpmorials, in fond hoop that in doing so wp benefit oui coming comradps as wp havp been benefited .... and blessed .... John Bisceglias has established a Luck Scholarship - to by drawn on at any time by any one in need - of luck, that is, of the kind with which he has been so plentiously endowed. Peter Carstensen leaves his tonsorial splendor the the musical, long-hair Mike Shaw; that his locks may be so well tended. David Filkins leaves his first place in the lunch line preferably to Mr. EXincan, but assuredly to any faculty member there first. Tom Fuller thinks Richard Hildenbrand the best recipient of his athletic ability, and he wishes Iarry Shiell to inherit his first trumpet chair in the brass section - orchestra that is.... Fred Griffen with much rending of heart - leaves to George Viele his most precious possession. The Automotive Manual (with the hone that flirtation and its charms will not deter George from benefiting from it's wisdom - as has Fred). Richard Holcomb has succumbed to the kindness that characterizes his heart, and leaves his Ski-Doo to the covetous Gilbert Van Oiilder. Leo Limooe wills his ability to have a good time - anywhere and everywhere and anytime (particularly in Lake Placid) to anyone - just anyone - who likes a good time. Suzanne Limoqe hands down her Adirondack Festival representative crown to Kris Byrne. Jenell Mitchell leaves her doctor's appointments (especially the one for curing her lead foot) to Laurie Jones. Mary Pelletier has decided that her fighting ability can best benefit the varsity basketball team, and thus she wills it. Jean Raymond - after much searching, thinks Pam Whitney can best benefit from her ability to study and apply herself. Howard Schiren - and we don't know why - leaves his ability to capture feminine hearts to Robert Mason. Wanda Tyrell bequeaths her quiet charm and love of work to Annie Bassett Dan Wescott leaves his quiet nature to Dan Long - and Mary Young - her fashion flair to Anna Perkins. Wo heretofore in this June of the year one thousand nine hundred and sixty-nine, set our hand and seal on this document and name, constitute, and appoint as executor our principal Mr. Reuben Mich - in the full knowledge and belief that he hasn’t enouoh troubles as is. THE CUSS OF 1969 CAN YOU IMAGINE? Pottersville having a winning basketball season? leo limoge holding his temper? Danny Wescott getting to school on time? Freddie Griffin without his brilliant ideas? Mr. Kyrk eating his complete lunch? Dave Filkins with less talk and more action? Peter Carstensen bald at the age of 45? Mary staying out of trouble - just ONE day of her life? All the Seniors graduating? Physical education without 'oach? Mr. Hajeck with his music? Mr. Brewer giving parking lessons? No last minute time outs by coach? Mrs. Mundy with a Volks=wagon? Cathy A. not riding in a black '63 Ford? Richard Holcomb not trying to prove a point? Tom Fuller not powdering someone with a chalk eraser? Pamela as a shy, quiet Senior? Anna not waiting for letters and phone calls from Brian? Cheryl not going to Albany weenends? Jenell behaving herself? Larry Shell without any money? Mrs. Baldwin's history tests being easy? John Aoard with a Chevy? Bob Raymond not playing 1st string? Jenell Mitchell spending weekends at home? The EIGHTH GRADE at Pottersville Central School is typical of others across the land. We are slowly shaking ourselves from our childhood dreams and beginning to open our eyes to the Comdex world about us. The light of recognition and acceptance comes in its own good time and some of us are all ready fully awake while the rest are, as yet, slumbering blissfullly. We hooe that June will find us all yawning and stretching for the next rung on the ladder. ' 1 Jer-- SEVENTH GRADE Back Rows S. Viale, B. Harpp, G. Armstrong, C. Norton, R. Bleickhardt, T. Engle, K. We try to develop those skills and attributes which will give us a sense of self-discipline and responsibility. Sometimes we find this difficult to do as we are still so close to our elementary school days and ideas. One way we are trying to become more closely associated with the high school is by sending two representatives, Mark McDevitt and Joan Gamble, to the newly formed Student Council. We do not elect class officers and therefore we welcome this oooortjnity to see democracy in action. Curtis 5 Cindy John £ £l Dale Linda A Susan Dave Diane Mark Darlene jti. X.' There are fourteen boys and nine girls in our class. Many are avid readers. We have had a story tree, on which we put a leaf naming the title and author of each book read and reported. We have the prospect of new library books and are hopefully awaiting for confirmation of this. Books are like magic carpets, taking us to many lands and introducing many new friends. Terry Randy p. VanGuilder, Althouah this year's chorus is smaller in quantity than last year's, the quality has not diminished. Part of this Is due to the experienced members but much credit must also be given to the new members. Almost all of the Freshmen joined the chorus this year. The Christmas Concert was a great success. Some of the numbers performed by the chorus were: White Christmas , The Night Before Christmas”, and Calypso Noel. The chorus is preparing for the Soring Concert and Commencement. They are working on selections from South Pacific, Sheep and Lambs May Safely Grare by Back, and There Is a Balm in Gilead. Twelve members of the chorus represented Pottersville in the All-State Sectional Chorus in Lake Placid. Seventeen represented us at the Essex County Music Festival. ORCHESTRA Back Rows R. They are mainly string olayers and have helped the violin section considerably. The orchestra showed much improvement at Christmas time and is continually working to make its future appearances as successful. Laurie Jones was the only orchestra representative in the All-State Sectionals last fall but several more have been chosen for the Essex County Music Festival. Perkins, J. Gamble, J. Harrington As the Yearbook goes to press, the varsity has won one out of ten games while the junior varsity has a record of seven wins and three losses. Having lost their entire starting five from last year, the varsity has had to contend with inexperience and has recently come along to play closely contested games with Horicon, Minerva, and Chestertown. Best game to date was the 73 to 70 loss to arch rival Chestertown. The game was played on their court, and the bobcats had the lead near the end of the game but after losing two of the starting five lost the game in the final seconds. The junior varsity, having a good year, but have had several close games. One was a one point loss to Chestertown on our court and another was the two point win on the Chestertown court.
