Washbum. mr. ralph j. Wakefield became director of the crane department of music ii 1966. he joined the college facility in 1951 and was named assistant to the prcsi dent for institutional studies in 1965. besides heading the crane department. mr. waketield continues his studies to the expansion and modification of the co11ege's academic programs, X-

'X the campus school provides classroom. observation, and practice facilities for education students. education classes hold observation in the campus school auditorium, which is equipped with closed circuit television. methods classes practice their teaching skills in actual classroom situations. a limited number of students do their practice teaching at the campus school. a new campus school will be built on the sucp campus in the near future. dr. john s. gardiner is director of the congden campus school. he has taught at port jefferson station and the huntington public schools. other professional experi- ence includes nysta, neu. and nystrs.
