FINANCE COMMITTEE Finance Committee, a sub-committee of the Student Government Association, is composed of twenty one membersg five from each class and the treasurer of S.G.A., who holds an honorary position. A commit- tee chairman is elected each spring from the membership. This committee handles all of the students' money. At their weekly meetings, they sign all the dispursing orders for student money and they check the hooks of the treasurers of the various student organiza- tions to make sure they are kept correct and up to date. It is this committee which prepares and discusses the budget before it is pre- sented to the student body for a vote of acceptance. With the treasurer of S.G.A., they handle all hospitalization and fire insurance. During the first semester of each year, Finance Committee awards three scholarships of three hundred dollars each on the basis of the financial need of the applicants. Because of the nature of this scholar- ship, the winners' names are never published. Dr. Barrington serves as faculty advisor to the committee. Seated on floor: R. Claus, T. Mecca, P. Adams. ASSEMBLY CCNCERT COMMITTEE Consisting of five members from each class, Assembly Concert Com- mittee is guided by faculty advisors, Mr. Harry Phillips and Miss Helen King. The committee plans school assemblies and concerts a year previous to the proposed performances. Their responsibilities include making ar- rangements for the performers regarding props, over-night accommoda- tions, stage hands, and many miscellaneous details that have to be Seated: A. This year's assembly policy has decreased the number of assemblies in hopes that fewer dates to fill would result in better assemblies. Highlights of the '56-'57 concert season have been lecturer Norman Cousins, the film version of Menotti's The Medium, the Paris Ballet of Lycette D'Arsonval, Hamlet as done by the Dublin Players, the National Symphony Orchestra and the Rochester Woodwind lluartet. Row 3: ELECTION COMMITTEE How many times have you cast your vote in a P.S.T.C. election? The machinery of democracy in our college is that of the Election Committee. The planning, execution and follow-through on all Student Government elections are its responsibility necessitating scheduling elections, dis- tributing ballots, and counting votes. The prime job of the Committee is the election of freshman officers. Due to the difficulties inherent in elections in a new class, new plans for freshman elections were tried this year and further sugges- tions are being considered. Consisting of five members from each class, elected as are all standing committee members, the Election Committee functions with the help of Dr. Thomas Barrington.
