ACI-IIEVEMENT DAY: The Achievement Day pro- gram was held in the auditorium May 29, 1958. After the juniors took their places in the balcony, their presi- dent accepted the class key from the senior president, completing the moving-up ceremonies. Faculty members presented scholastic awards, poetry and essay publication awards, mathematics awards, science awards, band awards, and perfect attendance awards. The program ended with the student body singing the Alma Mater. At the Athletic Achievement Day program on june 9, Mr. Molnar of Potsdam State Teachers' College was guest speaker. After Mr. Molnar's talk, Mr. Gage pre- sented the cheerleading awards. Mr. Harrington then presented letters to the worthy members of the football, Three years of service in band enabled Alice Grant, basketball, hockey, l'JZlSC'bZlllZ1I1Clf1'H.ClitC3.fllS. seated, Anne Stillman, Susan Spurbeck, Nancy Oberst, Judith Barrows. George Levi and Wfayne Hover, to win uniform cords in the school colors. For their unfailing appearance at school last year the following received perfect attendance awards: Fin! At the N.N.Y. Science Fair, john Mitchell's exhibit on weather forecasting received first prize. For their exhibit on fermentation, Nancy Dixson and Nancy Oberst won hrst prize at the N.N.Y. Science Fair. Science students entered their projects in the Potsdam Central School Science Exhibit, held on April 2, 1958 in the gymnasium. Prizewinners then went to the North- ern New York Science Fair, which took place on May 3, in the Appleton Arena at Canton, Later, Allen Elias and George Levi represented Potsdam at the Northern Zone Science Congress at Canton Central High School, where Allen won first prize.
