MESSAGE FOR CATAMOUNT -1973-1974 The past year I have been proud to be a part of Potomac State College and the traditions which surround it. I am encouraged that students, faculty, and staff have worked together as a team, and the results of this effort are re- warding. We are in an age of accountability, as well as an age of inflation, but I am confident that if we continue to work together as a unit, we can build an even better Potomac State College, and in turn be better prepared for the challenging future in the years ahead. Congratulations to the Catamount staff for an excellent l publication. A. Ci. Slonaker Dean of the College Dr. A. G. Slonaker, executive dean Prof. lames T. Handlan, associate dean Aside from being a nostalgic record for students at Potomac State College, each yearly issue of the Cata- mount carries an important history of this college. The changes that have been made, the advances in knowledge, new attitudes, and the way each class faces the challenges of its year are found within the covers of the yearbook. The tempo of the time is here, and how each class searched for solutions to the problems of its day is written for all to see. The students and their faculty sponsor who worked to produce the yearbook are to be congratulated for the excellent results which are set here for a record of 1974. lames T. Handlan Associate Dean 18
