Having joined the faculty of Potomac State College in the fall of 1948, Dr. Murphy has taught, advised, befriended, chatted with, and inspired hundreds of students. His colleagues esteem him as a capable and understanding teacher. His Wife and three children know him as a devoted and loving husband and father. His friends rec- ognize him as a congenial, thoughtful, and loyal associate. Dr. Murphy is a member of the Executive Committee of Potomac State College. He has also served as adviser to Phi Kappa Omega Fraternity since its origin in 1949. Dedicated to the Welfare of his church, he has been chairman of the Commission on Education and a member of the Board of Trustees of the First Methodist Church of Keyser for many years. In the words of the poet Leigh Hunt, Allen Murphy is . . .one that loves his fel- lowmenf' and tomorrow, I'll take them on a field trip.
