Mr. David G. Nuzum DIRECTOR OF STUDENT AFFAIRS West Virginia's Centennial Year marks a century of progress. The Mountaineer State may be said to have seceded twice: with and from Virginia. West Virginia in 1963, girded for action, promises the nation to exhibit con- tinual, economic and social growth. The sesquicen- tennial birthday of A.D. 2013 prompts the prog- nostication that Potomac State, while remaining a junior college, will have a student body of 3000, the two years of higher education being 'given gratis by the state. The office of Director of Student Affairs, in providing the mortar to stabilize the verities of scholastic endeavor, strives to deepen char- acter integrity and to be the proverbial grind- stone by which students sharpen intellectual, social, and moral judgment. 'Q-vi As we celebrate the centennial of our state and complete the sixty-first year of our college, tri- bute is paid to Women who have contributed to the success of both. Women have had the opportunity of higher education, mainly during this century. College records reveal that they have merited this recog- nition by academic excellence and valuable serv- ice in every phase of college life. Further re- search shows that they have utilized their train- ing effectively in home, community, state, and nation. May West Virginia's motto, Montani Semper Liberi, be the guide for greater achievements by Potomac State women as they strive to meet the responsibilities which accompany freedom. Dr. K. Imogene Dever DEAN OF WOMEN
