Left off everv sportswriter's Who's XVho list at the start of the season. and possessing only one holclover regular in Kenny Sims. the Cats swept series over nine clubs. split with Salem and dropped the season series to four colleges. Potomac State finished third in the NVest. Virginia Intercollegiate race, mainly because of three losses in the final four games of the sea- son. The Cats moved to the finals in the West Virginia College Invita- tional Tournament only to lose to Davis-Elkins, 58-50. Opening the season with four freshmen and one soph- omore. Potomac State dropped a close 40-40 decision to an undefeated Salem Tiger quintet. The game was the first of nine straight home court appearances for the Cats.
