xi if 1. Edward Kelley The Catamount honors in dedication Staff Sergeant J. Edward Kelley, who was awarded posthumously the nation's highest military tribute, the Congressional Medal of Honor, for his intrepid and inspir- ing leadership of the assault platoon of Company E, 311th Regiment, 78th Division of the American Army, in an advance into Kesternich, Germany, in January, 1945. A graduate of Keyser High School, Class of 1941, Edward Kelley attended Potomac State School, majoring in physical education. He left college March 8, 1943, to assume his infantryman's role. His body lies in Margrat, United States Military Cemetery at Marstrict. Holland. Edward Kelley will live in the hearts of all who knew him. He put valor, duty, and honor before selfg his achievement will inspire others in succeeding years. He will remain forever honored among the illustrious sons of Potomac State. WIEMQDESH M

Once again the staff uti- lizes their traditional symbol of strength and stamina in the decorative motifs throughout this annual. Yirile steps and masculine voices transform the halls of Potomac State from quiescence to robust joie dc vivre. Khaki and blues are cast aside for jeans and lumberjack plaids: fatigue duty and inflexible authority are replaced by lectures and labs, a masculine world titillated by femininity.
