l Presidenfs Message First. to the sponsor and the staff of the Catamount, congratulations. It was difiicult to make a decision on publishing in this trying year. We are glad the decision was positive and the tradition of the Catamount remains unbroken. We appreciate your loyal service. But it is to the students We are supposed to be speaking. lt is you who have made possible this good year despite the handicaps forced upon us by War. VVe had to modify our program and our procedure. We could not do business as usual. We required you to maintain higher standards, to be conscious of your obligations as American citizens in a time of crisis. You have justi- fied our faith in you by responding With renewed efforts. You have attained new goals and you have not com- plained. You have proved that you are thoroughly awake to the responsibilities as Well as the rights of citizens. We are proud of a student body that in time of great stress has demonstrated its loyalty and devotion to Potomac State School and to America. E. E. CHURCH, President
