' ' iw,-J 1' fl ,FK On the bleak night of Qctober 25, witches, ghosts, black cats, and goblins took over the Potomac State hill, as Theta Sigma Chi and Eta Upsilon Gamma held their second annual Witches' Ball, the First social function of the school year. Sixty couples danced to the music of Iimmy Andrews and his orchestra. The program featured tradi- tional Halloween hgures on its cover, and the hall was decorated in orange and black with a semi-false ceiling. Favors were distributed to all the guests at the ball, which was acclaimed the hnest of its type at Potomac State in three years. EIGDMECCIDM NCQ Dbl Climaxing the seventh annual homecoming celebration at Poto- mac State, the ball held in the gymnasium on the evening of Novem- ber S was by far the largest attended dance on the school social calendar. The Diplomats' Orchestra of Martinsburg played for the arlair, which featured the announcement ol' Miss Catamount ll by Norman Wallace, president of Theta Sigma Chi. At intermission, William lieller presented Miss Doris Cochran with a bouquet of yellow roses, her sorority flower, in recognition of her having won the title.

One hundred couples attended the second annual Iingle Bell Hop, sponsored by Phi Sigma Nu and Sigma Epsilon Chi on Decem- ber 13, IQ4OZ, and danced to the music ot Reed Raines and his Rain- drops. Feature of the evening was the crowning of Miss Betty Dates and Mister Luennis Robinson as the Queen and King of the Winter season. The gymnasium was decorated with a huge supply of green pine, so placed that the hall gave the appearance of a clearing in a huge forest. Santa Claus made his appearance, and presented each woman guest with a small Wristlet of ribbon, on which hung three small bells. EIESHSTM S P HRT? Iust preceding the Christmas holidays, the students of the two dormitories on the hill assembled in the dining room of Davis Hall on the night of December I7 for their annual Christmas Party. After a delectable meal, served by candlelight, the diners were treated to an entertaining trumpet solo by William Marshall Rogers, accompanied by Mr. Withers.
