FOOTBALL The Poth Pirates coached by Gilbert iteinhard of the Poth School faculty closed one of the most successful 6 man seasons in the history of the school They went through a 9 game season in their District undefeated. They won their final game from Nordheim 3U-20 to Clinch the title. Although they suffered a U7-0 defeat at the hands of the powerful Crescent Consolidated High School at Louise, Texas on November 2U, for the Bi-Dist- rict Championship. The seasons record for conference games were 8 wins and 2 losses— wins over Stockdale, Smiley, Floresville, Lavernia and losing the two to Runge. All in all the Pirates won 1U out of 22 games play- ed this season. They entered 3 tournaments during the season: at Pettus, Karnes City and Pawnee. At Pettus the Pirates won consola- tion by defeating Smiley, Pawnee and George West. At Karnes City, they won Uth place; and at Pawnee they came home with 2nd place by defeating Nordheim and Floresville and being defeated by Pettus in the finals.
