Coach Sherman Floyd's boys easily chalked up 16 first downs to their opponents' 6 and rolled up a total yardage of 368 to 120. EUFAULA 12 - 0 The Eufaula lronheads proved to be a stout team on their home field when the invading Pirates, evidently look- ing ahead ,to future encounters, found the going tougher than expected but found pay dirt twice to win 12 - 0. Bob Irvin made two beautiful runs for the two scores. The Pirate line aided him in every way. STILW ELL 39 - 7 Poteau's super charged Pirates chalked up their fifth straight victory by fouling the Stilwell Indians' big 'Mas- sacre they had planned for us to a count of 39 to 7. Again Bob Irvin displayed his ability on the gridiron by scor- ing three touchdowns, one an 85 - yard kick return, and two extra points. HEAVENER 14 ' 7 The Pirates ran their victory skein to six straight by defeating their traditional county rival 14 to 7. l-leavener pretty well contained the brilliant running of Irvin until the 4th quarter when he broke loose for a 36 yard run for the second touchdown and both extra points. Bill Butler picked up his first touchdown on a plunge that was set up by a Manlove to Borin pass. 'I'he game was exceptionally clean with few penalties. WAGONER 20 - 14 'I'he Poteau Pirates clinched at least a tie for the NOAA conference championship in a brilliantly played game when they defeated the hustllng Wagoner Bulldog aggregation in the High School Stadium by a count of 20 to 14. About 300 frost bitten but happy fans sat in the stands to watch the Pirates, in their final game of the season, put up as great an exhibition of High School football as has been witnessed in many a day in spite of great handicaps
