High School Band As usual, this year started off with the football season, and, as always, the Poteau High School Band was presnet at each game to perform in the half-time ceremonies. '1'l1e Band Queen for 1958 was Kay Kemp. Vera Anne Hampton was Maid of Honor, and Barbara Robertson was the Attendant. The 1958 officers were: President, Gene Pogue, Vice-President, Nick Evans, Secretary, Kay Kemp, and Reporter, llarriette Moore. The Band went to Durant on February 10th and llth for the Southeastern Band Festival. This was quite an exciting experience for all who made the trip. Then we attended the District Instrumental Contest at Wilburton in March. Ma, our director, has certainly been an inspiration to all of us and has aided us in our music appreciation.
