O Senior F.H.A. The Future Homemakers of America is a national organization for pupils, who are studying homemaking in junior and senior high schools in the United States, Alaska, Ha- waii, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia. Since its organization in 1945, membership, which is voluntary, has grown to an en- rollment of 447, 292 . The major goal of all Future Homemakers of America Chapters is to work for good home and family life, which, in turn, affects our community and national life. We, as Future I-lomemakers, believe that by democratic procedures in the home, all family members can learn to appreciate the importance of home membership: develop the joy and satisfactions of homemakingg promote international good willg develop creative lead- ershipg and provide wholesome individual and group recreation. To help carry out the goals of Future I-Iomemaking, all local chapters may utilize project suggestions made by the National Council. For the 1957-58 school year, the Poteau Senior F .H.A. chapter selected as its local, state, and national projects Q15 FAM- ILIES TOGETHER, Q23 CIVIL DEFENSE, C31 UNESCO, C43 HOME, SCHOOL AND COM- MUNITY BEAUTIFICATION. As Future Homemakers, we stress 1002, participation because we believe that each individual should be encouraged to develop her own abilities to the fullest extent. We are continously striving to help our members become better citizens and homemakers of tomorrow.
