QW Q! POTONIAN REVIEWS THE SEASON We are not going to say that the Pirates had an entirely success- ful season. They didn't for they won only forty percent of the games played. However, we do point with some bit of pride to the fact that they tied their opponents in total scores made against them 92 to 92. During the early part of the season Captain Wayne Shaw was injured, and did not play in the major portion of the games. but he was always on the sidelines encouraging his teammates. The Potonian feels that what success the Pirates had this year was due to a sense of cooperation among the members of the squad, and with their coach. These boys are loyal to Poteau High School and the high school has shown a like loyalty to them. All that we ask of the boys next year is that this forty percent won be on the opponents' end of the score. Page Forty-nine
