BOYS' GLEE CLUB The Boys' Glee Club is an organization that is a great favorite of the student body. The boys have worked hard to improve their harmony and' tone quality and are believed to be one of the best glee clubs that Poteau has ever had. The glee club won first in the Black Diamond contest and first in the District Contest at Durant. The Members are First tenors: Ted Donathan, Orben Baker, L. H. Gassaway, Tommy Tiner, William Earl Whisenant. Second tenors: Ray Embrey, Fred Pilkington, Bobby Tidwell, Boyd Saviers. Baritones: Wayne Weeks, Jack Watson, Charles McDaniel, John McClain, Frank Fortner, Johnny Blake. Basses: Tommy Boyd, Charles Bell. Paul Dane, Billie Burt Frazier, Jimmy Wilemon. The boys' quartet is composed of Tommy Tiner. Fred Pilkington. Wayne Weeks, and Tommy Boyd. GIRLS' GLEE CLUB One of the most outstanding organizations of Poteau High School is the Girls' Glee Club, consisting of thirty members. This year the Glee Club won the Black Diamond Conference and had as its objective to Win the state contest. These members make up the glee club: Sopranos: Pauline Keifer, Patsy Youmans, Betty Frank Young. Billie Joe Twyman, Marion Tuck, Billie Jeanne Stroud. Goldie Pilgreen, Faye Nored, Billie Kathleen Lyons, Jacqueline Kirk, Erma Hinds, Evelyn Fields, Helen Blankenship. Betty Jo Barnes, and Agnes Askew. Second Sopranos: Mary Morris, Montez Roberson, Kathleen Vaughn, Doris McKown, Louise Hale, Marie Harris, Mae Linkswiler, Wyllie Sue Harris. and Emma Jeanne Donathan. Altos: Allene Boyd, Marcille Babb, Melba Burton, Frances Goodwin, Inez Cuop, and Irene Shrum. FUTURE HOMEMAKERS The Future Homemakers, the Junior Future Homemakers, and the Rural Future Homemakers, under the supervision of Miss Lula Beth Maxwell and Miss Josephine Inkanish, have carried out many successful projects this year. FUTURE FARMERS The Future Farmers of America are under the supervision of Mr. Leroy Joyner, agricullture teacher. The boys who are in this organization like their work very much and have a lot of fun with it, too. At the beginning of the school year, Harry Frank was chosen president: Harold Chitwood, vice-president: Joe Paul Logan, secretary: Gerald James, treasurer: Billy Shuler, representative, Darrell Plummer, Watch dog: and Wallace Hoyle, parliamentarian.
