A Message to the Seniors: '. You of this class are going to take your place in a world that faces many difficult prob- ' ,fy lems. I hope that for each ofyou it will bethe commencement of a life ofuseful service i 'if 1 to humanity and to the world. I hope that in rendering that service you will so conduct ff S yourself as to reflect honor upon this school and this community. I hope that you will 'K 'S' exemplify in your lives all that is best and noblest and only that which is worth being 'N- called American. The future calls upon you to make it what you want it to be. Only as S Dear Students: you and millions like you dedicate your efforts to the building of a better, freer, happier world can that desired end be brought about. I know of no worthier challenge. That you will respond nobly I do not doubt. That you may succeed is my earnest hope. Superintendent I'm sure that as you read this book in the future many fond memories will be re- called. It is my hope that you will also be able to recall your years spent here as very profitable years and that you may not need to feel that there were things you might have done that were left undone. Imake this statement in all seriousness for we, your teachers and counsellors, realize that the very future ofour Nation depends upon the youth that make up our student bodies today. You have heard much of the scandals that have plagued our State and National governments in the recent times. Will these conditions be corrected when you take your places as our citizens and leaders? I am convinced that we have some of the finest boys and girls here that are to be found in any community. As you continue yourlife in high schooland out, ask yourselves these questions. Does honesty, loyalty, integrity, self reliance and character in general that go into the making of a good name really matter? Carefully consider what your answer shall be and discipline yourlife accordingly. When our students and others of the land have done these things, then we can rest assured that the future of our country is in good hands. Sincerely, Glenn Whittenberg 9
