This is also a good tirne and place to exp r e S S my appreciation to e a c h of you individuallyfor your condugr, in and around school. A Public School is for boys and girls. If you do not make the most of it you are merely wasting your time and ours. It is not just a place to learn how to live, but a place to live in. The school is striving to provide a place where you may live your school life to the fullest. You are now living. You are not going to wait until you are out of s c ho ol to begin. The school board, your par ents, and the teachers of your school are doing their concerted best to provide you with a good wholesome, pleasant place in which to spend your school life. I sincerely hope the school is deserving of your commendation, trust, and support, Of course the policies of the s chool are not going to comply 1007: with all your ideas, but we can strive for perfection even if we never attain it. It is your school, hence make the most of it. Sincerely yours, D. C. Fortunately, we here in Post - - in America - - are guaranteed this opportunity as part of our heritage. If ignored, it is lost forever. Post High School is your school. Just as the seed planted in enriched soil bears more abundantly, so does the mind that has been trained according to the high standards that you have set forth at Post High School - - Your school. They were on the top bya margin of 39 to 7. All the boys played a fine game. The next we ekend the Antelopes moved up the Cap to meet the favored Floydada Whirl- winds. There was no score by the half, but late in the fourth quarter Kirkpatrick ran around left end about twenty-five yards to pay dirt. That was the be s t the boys playe d all year. Post 6, Floydada O. The Antelopes met the Littlefield Wildcats at Post. Some of the Antelopes fr om last year knew what kind of a team the Wildcats had, so they were r eady. Post threw their spread at the Wildcats which gave them a great surprise. Taylor, Davis, and Co-Captain Graves did a mighty fine job of stopping up the center. Somehow the score ended Post 12, Little- field 14. Again the Antelopes played ball on the ir own grid vs. Levelland. The big Lobos were out to seek revenge on the Antelopes. The final score read Post 8, Levelland 28. The Post Antelopes star ted their first conference game with Ralls. They drew blood the first thing, then a Kirkpatrick to Evans worked a TD. Post and Ralls took turns at scoring. The try for extra point failed. The game ended Antelopes 20, .Tackrabbits Zl. The Antelopes went to Tahoka the next weekend. The Bulldogs were wide awake during the whole game. At the half the score was Post 6, Tahoka 7. When the final whistle blew the score was Post 6, Tahoka 20, Post traveled a long way to meet the Tulia Hornets. Some thing was wrong again. Fred Long ran through the whole Tulia line for Post's first score. Caylor caught a pass for the second score. Post was a little shy of points again. Antelopes 13, Hornets 27. The Pbst boys did not know whether to be ducks or Antelopes because the field was covered with water, which soon be came mud. In a very clean game, the Antelopes met the Spur Bulldogs. The Antelopes got the jurnp on the Bulldogs when the ball went over the punter's head and out in the end zone. The spread worked again. The game was in favor of Post with a score of15-13, On October the 8th, the Antelopes met with their old rivals again, the Slaton Tigers. Slaton had about fifty-five boys suited out and were expecting to play them. The score wa s tied 7 to 7 at the half. Afte r that the Post Antelopes got busy and played some g ood football. About the middle of the third quar te r the score began to pile up in our favor. The Ante-- lopes could do just about what they wanted to at the end of the g ame. Evans made three touchdowns on passes, Potts mad e two through the line and Kirkpatrick made one around left end. The final score was POST 40, Slaton 7.
