Foot Ball The football season closed, successful. the first successful season that Post High fans evcr witnessed for their team. The two vcars before, the team receiv- cd defeat after defeat but they stayed together and fought and won, in the end. Then after they had won, or gave signs of winning they received encouragement from both town and school. The success is due to two causes, thc coach and the team work- The first game was a failure except for t'onnell7s successful tackling and breaking up plays- Thc spirit of thc team rose with the ncxt game when Yantis rolled over the goal line for a touchdown. The spirit kept up through the next game but they could not win. Then the revcngcful game with llalls when, they won at the fair and surprised everybody. This was the game that gave the town confidence in the team, and from that time out they backed thc team to their bottom dollar. There was thc battering game with Tahoka, the game was lost until thel last two minutes of the game when 'il'cter'7 made a sensational run for the winning touchdown. The game with our rival Slaton was a success, and likewise the Wilson bout. One day the coach called the team together and broke the news to them that they were to play Lubbock. There were exciting times in Post. All stores closed and everybody prepared to sec Post get a good beating. Surprise for all, Lubbock only won by 18 points. This made the team over confident and they lost the next game. The next Slaton game was a failure but the Spur game was a success- Thanksgiving day was fair, everybody was out, the band played ttThree Wclock in the Morning and Tahoka arrived on the scene at five. Hence the: saying 'tThe early bird catches the wormj' They were late, we caught the worm. Ath. Editor.-EW. Paar: Forty , i 4 l 1 r -,gk ' lily 1 ,, 1, i Qtr. i f X .
