BASKETBALL REVIEW MARIETTA EDGES WEST, 65-61 In the first quarter West took the lead by 1 pointg at the half time, by 4 points. In the third quarter Marietta tied it up and then went on to win by 4 points. Wilson was high with 18 points, followed by Ward with 15. WEST ROMPS WAVERLY, 75-51 West outscored Waverly all four quarters. The Waverly team could not stop Coach I'Iairston's boys. Ward was high with 22 points. and Wilson, with 16. WEST LOSES TO EAST, 68-60 West lost a very close game to East in the final minutes of the game at Grant Gym. Wilson had 17 points, Dickson, 14. WEST DOWNS IRONTON, 65-53 West led the second and third quarters to outscore the Ironton team by 12 points. Klever had 20 points: Dickson, 18. WEST ROLLS OVER CHESAPEAKE, 72-53 West outscored the Chesapeake team all four quarters. Ward was high with 17 points, Klever, with 16. WEST DEFEATS WHEELERSBURG, 64-55 West opened the first night of the Christmas Tournament to win over Wheelersburg by 9 points. Dickson had 25 points: Klever, 15. WEST DEFEATS MINFORD, 58-48 West outscored Minford three out of the four quarters to win the Christmas Tournament at Minford High School. Dickson was high with 21 points: Klever, with 12. WEST OUTSCORES OAK HILL, 67-51 West started the New Year with another win to its credit, West outscored Oak Hill in the third and fourth quarters by 16 points. Dickson was high with 16 points: Klever and Ward had 15 each. WEST DOWNS NEW BOSTON, 74-43 West outplayed the New Boston team all the way. Dickson was high with 24 points: Wilson had 23. WEST WINS OVER VALLEY, 64-44 West and Valley were tied first and second quarters but West took the last two quarters to win by 20 points. Dickson led with 22 points, followed by Ward with 13. WEST ROMPS EAST, 75-54- West trailed until the fourth quarter and then exploded for 35 points. Dickson led with 23 points: Ward, with 22. W1-IEELERSBURC EDGES WEST, 63-60 Wheelersburg edged West in the last minute by 3 points. Ward was high with 15 points. WEST WINS OVER MINFORD, 71-66 West outscored Minford to win for the second time this year. West went out in front at tha half by 14 points, then kept the lead the rest of the game. WEST ROLLS OVER HILLSBORO, 69-49 West got an early lead and kept it all the way to the finish. West led tha last three quarters by not less than 20 points. Wilson was high with 24 points and Dickson with 16. CLAY EDGES WEST, 64-62 West was behind at half time by 21 points. Then West came battling back with 20 seconds left in the game. Clay was ahead by 2 points. Wilson stole the ball and tied it at 62-62. Ward had a chance to win the game with 2 foul shots but missed both shots. The game went into overtime and Clay won by 2 points. WEST OUTSCORES VALLEY, 66-57 West chalked up another victory by defeating Valley by 9 points. Ward and Klever led West with 16 points each, followed by Wilson with 13. WEST ROMPS IRONTON, 74-47 Coach Hairston's team got an early lead at half time, 34-23, and led the rest of Lhe game to win by 27 points This was the second time this season that West defeated Ironton. Dickson led the West team with 24 points: Wilson had 14. WEST WINS AGAIN OVER WHEELERSBURG, 63-53 West led all four quarters to win by 10 points. Wheelorsburg came within 3 points, then West exploded with 10 quick points in the last 3 minutes of the game. Dickson and Ward got 22 points each. WEST DOWNS NOTRE DAME 70-46 West jumped into an early lead of 19 points at half time, then coasted the rest of the way to win by 24 points. Ward got 20 points, followed by Dickson with 16. MINFORD WINS OVER WEST, 70-56 Minford got 05 to an early lead and held it throughout the entire game. West came within 3 points of the end of the third quarter, but Minford exploded 28 points in the fourth quarter. Dickson was high with 18 points. Ward followed with 17.
