The Department offers nine different courses including Art I Elective, Art I, Art II, Art III, Art IV, Drawing, Painting, Commercial Art and Ex- ploring Art Careers. J HOME ECONOMICS DEPARTMENT Designing A Total Individual Home Economics at Portsmouth High School is an enjoyable way to gain practical skills and knowledge useful for everyday life. The Department gets students involved from the very beginning by an innovative introduc- tion and comprehensive program in Home Eco- nomics Exploratory. Here students look objec- tively at themselves and the all-important decisions they must make during their teenage years. Following the introductory course, stu- dents elect specializations in the areas of Food and Nutrition, Textiles and Clothing, and Child Development.
