To the Class of 1983 Since September of 1979 you, the members of the Class of 1983, have encountered many obstacles and difficult times. You can be proud that you were capable of overcoming these obstacles. I hope that you can review the memory of your troubled and sad times and draw memories that may someday be pleasant ones. Through the sharing of all your experiences, the good and bad — you can now move forward better pre- pared to face the future. It has been a pleasure working with you as a counselor for the past year. You are an outstanding group of young men and women and 1 wish you the best for the future. May God Bless All Of You, Albert A. Cataldo Guidance Director “The great use of a life is to spend if for something that outlasts it.” — William James The past four years have seen the Class of 83 experience moments of jublilation and moments of despair. You’ve leanrned more than Geometry, Biology, and Music. You’ve learned about life and death. Graduation is an ending and a beginning. You will experience many more as you travel the “Roads of Life.” I am proud to have been part of these four years of your lives and I wish you all the happiness in the world. Good Bye and Gook Luck, Bob Rutkiewicz

Class History “The Innocent Age” Dan Fogelberg “Capture the moment Carry the day Stay with the chase As long as you may. Follow the dreamer, The fool, and the sage, Back to the days of The Innocent Age . . . Freshmen we were and our lack of experience was noticeable. While trying to follow in the paths that others had made, we waded through our first year in high school “Storybook endings Never appear They’re just someone’s way of Leading us here Waiting for wisdom To open the cage We forged the fires of The Innocent Age Being a sophomore made us feel more at ease. Responsibilities increased, but we began learning how to enjoy the lives we were destined to lead. Curosity and pleasure invaded our senses as new experiences were met at every door. “Back at the start It was easy to see No one to own to Nowhere to be ... ” This, the junior year, was when we opened up and were honest with ourselves. True personalities began to show and the plea- sures of high school were predominant. Worries were few and classes seemed short. We enjoyed partying with friends on the weekends, but returning to school also meant being with good friends.Clubs were joined or left alone, but everyone knew what was meant by young and carefree. “Fretful horizons Worrisome skies Tearful misgivings Burning you eyes Yearnings unanswered Reckon the wage you Pay to recapture The Innocent Age ... Our senior year, supposedly the best year of our lives, started out tough, decisions were to be made that we tried to avoid. With the support of those who cared, we made it through that stage and began to feel free and excited about the end drawing near. While most of us got jobs and were ready for our journey through life, others were still drifting in a fog, unaware of anything except their diplomas. We will hold on to these memories as long as we can; for these days will never come again. But, we will look forward to the years ahead with “great expectations”; with hopes and dreams ahead of us, the best is yet to come! Karen E. Wallin Cindi L.
