Text from Pages 1 - 200 of the 1982 volume:

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood. And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler. long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair. And having perhaps the better claim. Because it was grassy and wanted wear Though as for that the passing there Mad worn them really about the same. And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence; Two roads diverged in a wood, and I- I took the one less traveled by. And that has made all the difference. Robert Frost, The Road Not Taken Pathways The best pair of choppers in town WOW! We finally made it into the yearbook! Piece of cake anyone! Congratulations. Kris and Paul! The fish I caught was this big! May I have your undivided attention, please. We entered the High School as the freshman class of 1982 We were full of anticipation, expectation, confusion, bewilderment, and we had one heck of a bad reputation. l want a lover I want some friends And I want to live in the sun And I want to do all the things That I never have done . . “Off in the Netherlands I heard a sound Like the beating of heavenly wings And deep in my brain I can hear a refrain Of my soul as she rises and sings . . .” We had been growing for two years, and during one junior year we were discover- ing ourselves. Hidden talents were surfacing and creating a unique individuality among us all. A new anticipation had set in and was constantly reminding us of the path that lay ahead. “Anthems to glory and Anthems to love and Hymns filled with earthly delight Like the songs that the darkness Composes to worship the light . . We had heard and thought about high school and about what it would be like We had finally made it; we were here: and we were going to do it all! “Sunny bright mornings And pale moonlit nights Keep me from feeling alone Now. I’m learning to fly And this feeling is like Nothing that I’ve ever known . . Our sophomore year brought with it many freedoms which allowed us to fly (in thoughts and cars) We were growing up fast, never looking back, always antici- pating in the future “I've seen the bottom And I’ve been the top But mostly I've lived in between And where Ho you do When you get to the end of your dream?” Freshman bewilderment had gone, but new feelings replaced it c were not quae as young but not yet old enough to participate in all that we would have likedtOi Therefore, we did a lot of dreaming Our bad reputation had crumbled in the wake of our grow ing stature in the school. Our athletic and scholastic achievements would command reverence and respect for years to come “Once in a vision I came on some woods And stood at a fork in the road My choices were clear Yet I froze with the fear Of not knowing which way to go . Senior year came and once again we became confused. For each of us liieft'was a decision to be made: college, work, travel, marriage, or nne other venture. Decisions arc never simple, and the one we eachjAilF Choose will truly begin our adult life. “One road was Acceptance life I Ue other road ottered sweet peace When 1 made my decision My vision became my release.” What lies ahead we do not know. This will be for each of us to discover.
