Art And Music Art Department Art teaches students to express themselves in paint- ing, sculpture, wood carving, and many other medias. The students are on their own. with the art teachers guiding them into the right paths. Students learn various methods used by other artists, and then try their own. By using color, shape, and imagination they demonstrate their creativity. Whatever the result is, it's the students own work and their own way of expression. Mr. Richard Pacheco Mr. Raymond Ainsworth Music Department The Music Department, through its general music program, cultivates an interest and an appreciation of music. This is a major factor in the development of cultural standards in the students. For those who have a musical talent and ability, participation in the band, dance band, pep band, chorus and junior chorus is encouraged. Mr. John Burrows Mr. Leo Gaudette Mr. Peter Kekligian 14

Mr. Paul Nicoletti Mrs. Janice Walcott English Department The purpose of our English Department is two fold: to enable the student to express himself understandably and creatively, and to bring the student into meaningful contact with all forms of literature. These aims are realized through continual study of grammar and structure, reading and discussion of essays, speeches, short stories, and novels by authors from a wide variety of countries and times, analysis of modern and traditional poetry, and a study of drama, which is supplemented by the Project Discovery Program. Through this varied and intensive program of study, the student emerges with a deep appreciation of literature and the ability to communicate expressively.
