‘ 1 1 1976, the year of the Bicentennial - Many proud Americans lay tribute to a nation formulated by a people bold and unwavering toward their struggle for survival. A bond of tenacity united them , mutual in their desire for independence . It was this same type of people that realized the need for a health oriented insti- tution. That same character which developed and expanded what they designated King ' s Daughter ' s Hospital. Improvisations were made. New departments added, and the increasing personnel began to fill the need of a community advancing steadily in age and progress. But growth was not solely confined to the immediate hospital. The school that had also developed during this time proudly watched their prospects mature in tech- nique and knowledge pertinent to the nursing profession. However, the school and hospital function not as separate entities but together in the molding of we, the future nurses. Therefore, one must remember and by remembering, appreciate its ' contribution in the completeness of our education. Without the patience, concern and co-operation so typically displayed by all personnel , it is inevitable that we could not have reached our goal . With their assurance and guidance we can and do take delight in the accomplish- ment of this profession. We are truly grateful.
