Class History It was only three years ago, September 4, 1957 that twenty scared future nurses entered the halls of Portsmouth General Hospital School of Nursing. Orientation, tour and entrance exams were climaxed by a picnic at Mrs. Dan iels ' home. For our first year we chose Mrs. Daniels as our class advisor. In November we attended the annual Alumnae Dance with our candidate for queen, Tessie. In December we will long remember our Christmas Play - in which we worked and practiced so hard to be a success. After Christmas holidays, we returned and settled down to work; striving hard to get our little white caps and the first black stripes given to the Freshman Class. Now we felt a part of the Student Body. Our Junior Year came quickly and this will always be remembered! Night-Duty, 3-11, classes all day and the starting of our special services. Our summer months were filled with activities, a swimming party given by the doctors at Elizabeth Manor Country Club, Night Duty and being at the beach by nine o ' clock A.M. and our much deserved three weeks vacation. Now the time came when our class would be split every three months for affiliation in Sykesville, Dodge City. On September 3, 1959 we threw aside our two little stripes and received our big black bands and became SENIORS. This brought about two more classes, money raising projects and our Alumnae Queen, Tessie, crowned by Dr. Kunkle. As the graduating class of 1960, thirteen in number, we chose our uni- forms of white, had our pictures made, started making plans for our Farewell Dance at the Surburban Country Club, our Baccalaureate Service, and our longed for Graduation, September 2, 1960. The Graduating Class of 1960 wishes to express their appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and hospital personnel for their faithful and generous support during our three yea rs. J. Foster P. Babb C.
