Educational Director, With the coming of new students, we suddenly- realized that we were Juniors, In September, our classes began again, and v:e were placed on new services; such as. Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and the Emergency Room, At Thanksgiving, we sold chances for a turkey to benefit our class treasury, Mrs, Lee, 0,R, Supervisor, was the lucky winner. This year we selected E, MacPherson for our candidate for queen of the annual Thanksgiving Dance and again claimed a winner. The Christmas Dance Given by the medical staff was held on Dec. 15, and everyone had quite a lolly time. The Junior Class Christmas Party was held at the home of E, MacPherson. The Student Body’s Christmas Party was held at the Nurse’s Home with Dr. Peleo making a fine Santa, In February, the new students were capped, and vre received two black stripes across the corner of our cap. This was to be a new custom for Junior Students, In May, (one year from our last beach party), we again went to Ocean View, This time we were sure to take the food! Again we departed for our vacations, but this year we had increased our time off to three weeks. Three of our classmates left for Sykesville, Md, for their psychiatric affiliation in July, In September, the Graduation Dance honoring the class of ’5B was held. The new students entered school and were welcomed by a picnic at Wayside Park, Upon their arrival, we added a wide black band to our caps and were recognized as Seniors, At Thanksgiving the annual Alumnae Dance was held, and was enjoyed by all, R, Barnes was our candidate for queen this time. Rejoicing was expressed by all as Christmas presented itself with flakes of snov;, snowball fights and jingle bells and our Santa (Dr, Juguilon) presenting us with gifts and filling our stockings at the annal Christmas Party, A Fund Raising Dance for the Seniors was held Feb. 6, 1959 So is the life as a Senior Student, Graduation approaching elated us all from April until September appointments for graduation pictures, the anticipation of our own formal Graduation Dance, We do not feel that graduation is the end,, .it will be the beginAing of a new phase of life to most of us with plans of new nursing fields, new ideals, goals to attain and developing a better insight towards life and happiness.
