Sister Mary Agnes - History, English The library promotes reading and reference I Sister Margaret Mary Librarian Books stand ready to serve tlte student in many ways, to increase knowledge, and to satisfy leisure time. Sister Ann Regis, Guidance Catholic schools represent one of the Church’s principal commitments to this essential human task of education. They bear witness to the Church’s conviction that it cannot separate itself from the human condition. They also bear witness to the Church’s belief that its vision of man’s nature and destiny ought to enable it to make a unique contribution to the realization of man’s most noble dreams! The scope of the English pro- gram includes every means by which people can reach each other. Spoken and written words connect mind with mind and heart with heart, the present age with the past. Every man can share in the history and tradition of our nation, and contribute to the world of today. Mrs. Jane Newbill English, Speech Literature is an artistic record of the human race. We trust that our memory book is really all we hoped to accomplish in the Foreword. The challenge of the 1960’s is both gigantic and stimulating. The yearbook staff hopes that with the help of God the training received at Portsmouth Catholic will equip students with the understanding and personal effectiveness of lifelong success.
