M- e-WHO WE AREW-H VVe are high school students now-and that is a precious term to those of us who do not have much longer to claim it as our title. 'We are the daughters and sons of doctors, farmers, merchants, soldiers, sailors. Some of us want to 'learn to be teachers, nurses, engineers, still others have a position in the business world and a goal. But, what- ever our purpose in wanting it, we are all here for an education. The boys have had their near future planned by our Uncle Sam. Physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually we differ, each from the other. Each has his own personality, his own aspirations, his own joys, his own sorrows. Each boy, each girl is an important part of our student body. We are tall and short, thin and fat, blonde and brunette, have blue eyes and brown, like spinach and don't like spinach. W'e are two hundred and Hfty different people. 3

From time to time the pathway toward that goal is blocked with obstacles. Such obstacles confront our country today. VVe are a nation at war. The past achievements of our nation give us great faith that we will overcome the barriers before us and shall, once more be the peaceful nation that we were destined to be, Here is the story of years at school-a story whose events could have happened only where the democratic idea exists.
