A From death through life we traveled, meeting friends both new and old along the way, becoming lovers, becoming wed, even becoming parents. We even learned this year, some from books and some fro friends and some from those teachers who somehow transcended caste lines and met us more than haIf-way. Where must be a special Hell for bad teachers where they all are condemned forever to listen to poorly prepared lectures delivered in an uninteliigible monotoneJ Whose of us students who are inattentive and lazy are, of course, living our own heH and imposing it upon our friends as wellj

They smacked of the Medieval approach to Grace through paid absolutions and dispensations. No, the answers were not easily apparent. Yes, the age-old questions were still to be asked . .. by each Woman and Man alike: Who am I?What does it mean to be a citizen of the USA? Does it matter? Why? What is to be done? How may we all live together in peace? For some of us Religion was the Rock-Jesus or Krishna. Faith of another sort anchored many of the rest of us. We began to understand that our Earth is Whole, that we are one with all living things whether air, water, earth, or fellow creatures. We began to truly KNOW that we su rvive together or perish together.
