To hear any of the Engineers tell it, everyone else is just a passenger. The Engineering Department is responsible for getting the ship to and from anywhere the National Command Authority deems necessary. Additionally along with three Propulsion Divisions, the Engineers are responsible for ALL of the equipment used throughout the ship Cthat which is not assigned to the Operations Departmentj. Everything from the anchor windless mechanism used to raise and lower the anchor, to the ovens in the galley that are used to prepare the food that we eat. The Engineering Department is made up of Machinist Mates, Enginemen, Hull Technicians, Electricians, Interior Communications Electricians, Machinery Repair- men and Damage Controlmen.
