Rufus Roth who began teaching Agriculture Science at PUHS in the school year of 1950-51. This past year he has taught both Ag. Science and General Sci- ence and has been the advisor for the F. F. A. Club. At the end of this year, lVlr. Roth is plan- ning to retire after ten years of excellent teaching in our school. We are sorry to lose such a conscientious teacher, but we hope that he will have many years of well- earned leisure. lVlr. Toole is known and loved by everyone at Porterville Union l-ligh School. No matter where he is or what he's doing he always has time to talk to anyone that comes along. Since the 1928-29 school year lVlr. Toole has been teaching in various subjects and winning the admiration and friendship of all those who worked with him. Although he has taught Physical Education. Business. Shop and General Mathematics, and Orientation his main subject has been Science. He has also served as Sophomore and Junior Counselor, advised student body activities, and served as advisor to Council. Of all the above services he is probably most famous for the snackbar he runs in the boys' gym. Every noon will find lVlr. Toole faithfully selling at the Council snackbar. At all the home football and basketball games he also sells refreshments. And so. after thirty-two years of much appree ciated service, we, the class of 1960. are hum- bly honored to dedicate our 1960 El Granito to lVlr. Clarence Toole.
