While each member of the El Granito Staff has his own special job everyone is Working together to reach the same goal - an annual that all the students will enjoy. ln this l959 El Granito we hope to have captured some of the memorable experiences of this past year: the cherished memories ot the Seniors last year in high school and the Freshmens first year, as Well as recording outstanding events for Sopho- mores and Iuniors. These, never to be torgotten by you.

Shown here is a float sponsored by the Student Council, which won second prize in the Iunior division. This is an excellent example of high school-community cooper- ation, so vital for the suc- cess and harmony of our community. A better example of high school-community re- lations would be our Pan- ther Band. Their beautiful orange and green uni- forms were paid for by the merchants of Porterville. Our community is iusti- fied in its pride for our band because of its recog- nized superior marching precision and musical in- terpretation and ability.
