Joyce presents pantomime to Eartha Kit ' s I wanna Be Evil . Go Tuttle! That ' s our hot sax player. SOPHOMORE CLASS ASSEMBLY On March 9 the Sophomore class presented its talent assembly. Set in a courtroom, Louie the Louse Capone (Neil Rambo) was on trial for the charge of presenting indecent acts at his establishment. Bob Johnson started staggering across the stage, slightly under the weather, looking for his car. County Clerk, Harlan Hawkins, called the court to order and introduced Judge Esmond Ozwald O ' Nutt (Esmond McNutt) who in turn called for the first case (case in one sense of the word, anyway!). Prosecuting attorney, David Schneider, presented the complainant, Abigail Shortsnorter (Pat Pittenger). The defense attorney, Tom Ludden, and Capone presented the acts in question in defense of their case. The acts were a country style dance to Bo-weevil by the four sophs, Glenda Wilson, Gloria Roeth, Donna Emery, and Donna Land. Then there was an interlude (?) by Davis Harp; Pat Cheadle sang Band of Gold, and Georgio Riggins sang a combination number of Basin Street Blues, ' and Up a Lazy River. Karen Bastion did an interpre- tive dance to Ball and Jock, sung by Georgia Riggins. A pantomime was given by Joyce Hunt to the strains of I Wanna Be Evil, then Dove Schneider played a violin solo. Jim Davis and Pat Bastion concluded the program with Irish ditties and humoresque comedy. Faculty advisors for the program were Mrs. Ritz and Mr. Von Horn, who portrayed Mamie Van Doren and Tyrone Power, respec- tively. General chairman was Gloria Roeth; publicity and backstage co-ordinator was Sally Bakotich. Script writers were Gloria Roeth; Davis Harp, Joann Overcash. and Sally Bakotich. cSorl,

mt ri Tom Ludden Pres. CCJCSGA Vice President CJCSGA Porterville College student leaders who arranged for the spring conference of the Central Junior College Student Government Association (CCJCSGA to the initiated) on Saturday March 10th deserve orchids. The meeting, attended by 150 student leaders and advisors from nine junior colleges in the Central Cali- fornia area, went off without a hitch from start to fin- ish, and such things don ' t just occur. They take planning. P.C. Student Council hod a lot of leeway in the plan- ning and they came up with a well-rounded product which drew praise from the visitors in the form of a standing ovation at the end of the general session. P.C. can be proud of its new campus, its school, its activi- ties, and its student leaders. And this is only the beginning. I ♦ j . ( Luncheon at District Cafeferia f jates.
