IVhat does an assistant principal do? In the case of Portage ' s Mr. Gordon Klopfenstein, school duties are everyday life. Among his activities are coordination of the student council program, directing the guidance program, and counseling students. Under the capable direction of our principal, Dr Hugh Kariger, Portage has maintained its high standards throughout the year Always ready to lend a sympathetic ear, sometimes ready to recommend discipline, Mr. Larry Johnson and Mrs. Carol Pugsley provided invaluable guidance counseling throughout the year. Our school couldn ' t have run so efficiently without the help of our dependable secretaries. Helping students and teachers with a smile were Mrs. Nora Anderson (Stand- ing) and Mrs. Bertha Scott (Seated).
