Suddenly a great commotion was heard Two men were throwing golden coins to the populace as they came toward me One was a rich farmer who looked very much like ROGER TELLEFSEN He wanted a good growing season for his vineyards With him was a merchant who was hoping for a pleasant business trip to a faraway country across the Aegean Sea I was positive that the merchant was FRANK TIRINO Since the captain of his ship was WIL SARTER I said that his safe lourney was assured A procession of honored people came forward next They asked for bless ings upon their balms and olntments for the sick As they left I realized that the man who led them was that famous doctor WAYNE STONNELL Among his helpers were JULIE TONELLI MARILYNNE DUGAN and CAROLE MARKS Next I looked upon a famous sculptor who was no one but BOB HANSEN He was creating a statue for the new Parthenon which had been designed by JOHN DI NOIAI and sought Inspiration I suggested that he might find it by studying the paintings of NEIL DI TERESA and BARBARA MOTT two great artists of the Golden Age Looking about I saw the sun slowly setting Evening was drawmg nigh and still many people came A great statesman and lawmaker was now before me He wanted people to help him rid the Isle of Rhodes of all crimes and criminals I told DAVID OWENS that he could depend upon PAT LYMAN and MICHAEL PECORALE to help him stamp out evil to toe was the center of much merriment It seemed that a public fountain had overflowed with drastic results for him sleeping beneath I told my faithful scribes BETTY GOUGH and BARBARA HARRISON to send a mes sage to the city maintenance chief VINCENT MILATTA asking that the fountain be repaired My bookkeeper MARY ALIOTTA estimated the cost at fifty silver coins Dusk now had come and still inquiries came to the golden chair I recognized LENA PEZZANO PAT RIPPSTEIN and ELAINE KAUFMAN In a group before me They wished for success as they were about to start their teachmg careers ln the city of Thebes One person came forward Looking into her face I recognized her as my robe designer CAROL OLSEN She wanted to start a new look by raising the hemllne to the ankles Then then there was nothing but darkness' Night had finally arrived and no more faces could be seen through the mist Whether this was all a dream or whether it was only intuition I cannot say Perhaps these things will exist some day Perhaps the graduates of this class will achieve fame and honor and glory Only time can tell what the future holds RUTH ALICE KUSSNER CLASS OF I955 , .
