LAST year's fencing team was the most successful in Minstrel history, plac- ing near the top in a large field composed of the outstanding scholastic teams of the city. The team members of this successful quintet were Andrew Esterely, Al Roberts, Karl Schmeidler, Clark Allen, and Carey Dawson. OE SCHAEFFER, Russel McAuliffe, Tom Smillie, Earl Robinson, and Frank Holden carried the banner of 'Port Richmond over green and fairway last year and will again enter P. S. A. f s f X YS ty-nine soccsn TEAM g fi 0 .Vi Q... BOWLING TEAM Q' L NDING a successful season, the Soccer team captured the mythical Island championship. Sparked by the brilliant playing of Edward l-lorai and Roy Anderson, the team defeated New Dorp in the deciding match. The team was under the supervision of Coach Quatlander and was managed by Ray- mond Koloski. Others members of the team were Angus and Hector McDon- ald, Earl Robinson, Herbert Angell, and Louis Teletsen. ITH a superstructure of such capable seniors as Lars Larsen, Nicky Jorgensen, Danny Rosen, Matty Scarmedella, Vincent Geary, Andy LaFata, and Billy Sudutto the Bowling team conducted a successful season under the able helmsmenship of Coach Francis Dolan. Not only did they dis- tinguish themselves during the regular inter-mural competition, but they also brought honor to themselves and their school by winning various awards in a special tournament held at the culmination of the season.

Rv if Q Z' Seventy-one REAKING the tape in record times, the members of the Cross Country B Team have captured their R's through valiant efforts in inter-scholas- tic competition. Those pictured here are: Vic Valles, Alfred Molokie, Chris Schmid, Anthony Cascio, Pat Dauria, and Charles Fair. A SPORTY bunch of females have we in Port Richmond's Bowling Club. These girls, among them Doris McLees, Helen Allen, Doris Rippstein, Mildred Kvenvick, and Betty Clever-really can sail' the twelve-pounders down the alley and knock the pins for a loop-but definitely! An important item in their training to become expert women bowlers in the future is good sportsmanship, inspired by the able guidance of their instructress, Mrs. Raisch.
