Prophecy The date is now June 27, 1971 and we are assembled once more in the new auditorium of the Port Leyden Academy for our 20th Alumni Banquet. This is the first time we have all been together since graduation and we see quite a change in the old Class of '5l. The first to arrive and early of course is Mr. Keith Ernst a very well-to-do farmer. Keith built up the old farm so that lt now extends from Talcottville to Lyons Falls, is equipped with all the modern conveniences and run by scientific farming methods. Next to arrive is General Charles Moone who enlisted shortly after graduation. Next month he will retire with a pension of 5700 per month. We now see Robert Mashaw tearing around the corner in his newest hot-rod. He has made his millions by winning the 500-mile race at Indianapolis every year for the past twenty years. His wife, the former Joyce Curtis, who is accompanying him tonight, has found the Home Economics courses, which she took in Port Leyden High, very useful in her present life. Next, striding in with two body guards, is the famous and lovable warden of Sing- Sing our former classmate Jack Walsh. He has devoted his life to helping vicious cri nals Ngo straight.n ln fact he has done so well that the famous prisons are going on the rocks. Now coming in is Mrs. David Marmon, the former Janet Rocker. She and her husband have changed the former Marmon and Rocker Corporation into a life partnership and it has turned out to be very successful. Next to arrive are the two famous electronic technicans, Richard Mackey and David Van Aernam. Eighteen years ago they both graduated from the Canton Technical Institute and went to work for G-E and Westinghouse. Five years later Richard took over the Westinghouse Company and David took over G-E. They now have combined their companies into the Mackey-Van Aernam National Electrical and Radio Corporation. And here comes Constance Croniser a competent executive secretary, and head of a staff of fifty stenographers employed in the Mackey-Van Aernam firm. Arriving now is the former Emily Mooney, accompanied by her husband, Joseph Eggelston, recently discharged from the Army. They have opened a chain of gas stations which are very successful. Who is the tall blond in uniform coming in now? Of course! It is Captain Jean Weber, who has devoted her life to the WACS. She has revolutionized this branch of the service by changing the color of the uniforms from dark khaki to bright aqua. Who should be entering now but Gerald Schaffner, Our once girl-shy children. Arriving next is the wealthy and gracious Gladys lished a chain of the present coach at Notre Dame. classmate is happily married and is the father of eight lovely Rocker. She has recently estab- bakeries throughout the forty-eight states. Her specialty is spice cake without raisins. Entering now very tired. It's they have resided Now arriving is the former Stella McIntyre, now the wife of Carl Burnham, looking no wonder for she and her husband have traveled from Georgia where since Carl was stationed there during 1951. is the famous beautician, Pauline Hoffman. After many years of study she has become wealthy and well-known for her newly discovered WAtomicN beautifying lotions and skin creams and Atomic reducing agents. Miss Villiere has become a famous opera singer and has just returned from her tour of Europe. While she was visiting Paris, France, she met another of our traveling classmates, Faith O'Brien who is now the last tg arrive and late as usual.
