VARSITY Lewneidie League Champs 47-LS. The Varsity team this year, from the frist was de- termined to win the League, after pulling a hard fought 3rd. place last year. This year the team proved to be an agressive squad of players with the will to win, whether ahead or behind in the ball game. Port clinched the Lewneidia League Championship after win- ning the first 12 games of league play, although they dropped their 13th. game to Beaver River by two points. The Port team with its winning streak of lL games is believed to be one of the longest winning streaks a Port team ever had. Five of the lettermen are seniors and will be lost to the team through graduation. They are Fraser, Trombley, Stevens, Rocker, and Ripp. JUNIOR VARSITY Lewneida League Champs L7-48. The Port J-V's contest after downing the Beaver River Gourtmen for the championship won 9 out of ll League encounters. The team, with a high spmit to win played fine basketball through out the season, using good pass work and a strong defense. Q The Port Leyden skiers won the Lewenida League Ski Meet for the third straight year, thereby winning permanent possession of the Snow Ridge Trophy. V Four Port Leyden Skiers represented their school on the Lake Placid High School Winter Carnival, and represented our school at the Old Forge SK1 Heet.e They had very successful season this year. Soccer begam this year with the Port team buckling down to calisthenics and hard practice to get in shape for League frays, The team played aggressive ball, with fine passwork, winning three out of five league encounterers.
