Class Prophecy News Items of Nineteen Thirty-nine At St. Martain's Church, Friday a. m., May 15, occurred a pleasant wedding when Miss Gertrude Bailey, daughter of hir. and Mrs. Henry Bailey, became the bride of Prof. Ralph Harris, son of lVIr. and Mrs. Guy Harris of Lyons Falls. The bride is a graduate of Port Leyden High School and Utica School of Commerce, and has been in the employ of Gould Pa- per Company at Lyons Falls. The bridegroom is a graduate of Lyons Falls High School and Albany Teachers' College, and is now princi- pal of Lyonsdale High School. Friends will remember that this friendship started ten years ago when Prof. Har- ris took a post graduate course at Port Leyden High School. Miss Mary Coffey, R. N., New York City, was called home the other day by the increasing epidemic of spring fever in-P. L. H. S. Miss Cof- fey claims that she has discovered a new treatment for this recurring dis- ease. Bliss Bernice Belknap is now play- ing in Paul Whitemanls Orchestra. Miss Faith Bourgeois has accepted a position with NIetro-G0ldwyn- Mayer, for whom she will star in a new super-film, College Cutupsf' Kurt Blixt is now the new electri- cal vvizard of the General Electric Company at Schenectady. He has re- cently returned from a lecture tour of Europe and the United States, during which he explained his revolutionary theory of magnetic forces. Bliss Anna lVIurphy has obtained a position in the employ of J. Johnson. Anna drives the Buick for Mrs. Mr. and Mrs. James Charbonneau recently returned from their wedding trip which included a trip around the World. Just Opened: Etta's Beauty Shop. Latest in marcels and permanent wav- ing. VVork has begun on the Port Ley- den-Lyons Falls state road. At lastl The Hubbard Twins, Bee and Bub- bles, celebrated their filth birthday last Monday by having a birthday party. lVIr. and lldrs. Royal Edick cele- brated their twentieth wedding anni- versary last Friday by entertaining old classmates. The faculty of Lyons Falls High School recently enjoyed an outing at Brantingham Lake. Miss Margaret Holmes, one of the new teachers, did the cooking, of course, aided by a cook, Mrs. Lansing Dekin was a recent visitor at Port Leyden. An airplane landed in the vacant lot near lUullaney's last Wednesdayf- The aviator, who explained that he had been forced down by lack of gas, proved to be Elwin Rowell. Elwin is making experimental flights toward lklars. , lylany people were pleased to see the wonderful painting by James Bid- inger which was on display at the high school last week. Joseph Conway has hired out as hay-maker to Mrs. Marian Schwenk of Constableville. It is reported that our old friend, Gertrude Mullaney, beloved of all vaudeville fans, is soon to be married for the third time. Expert accountant Terrance J. Ri- ley called in town one day last week. James H. Coffey, undertaker, has purchased a new coach hearse. E131
