IS IN 1 I ' Dear Miss Nightingale: You know, I think some of us might really make it all the way. Honest, the interest is there. We get together and talk about how it's going to be working in the hospitals with all the doctors and technicians and all the satisfaction we'll get from seeing someone Well again. We've even started learning and practicing on each other. Well, maybe it's not like walking among the Wounded in the Crimean War. Still, We think sticking people with needles and giving baths in a safe, sound, and sanitary hospital will be dramatic enough for us. So any way, thanks a lot for getting the whole thing on the road. Do you think we'll ever really make it? Sincerely, Future Nurses of PJHS

Spvrfsmcn s Hvnservnf 2114 glllb Left to rightg front row-Pete Kowal, Lew Drake, Bob Baran, David Startup. Back Row Bob Coxe, Bob Stearns, Carmen Prisco, Paul Rupp, Dave Hitt, Bob Bray Mr Chase, advisor. What's a hunter? He tramps through the woods all day, flushes birds from the bush and runs his hounds. He carries guns or bow and arrows or if you please-a nylon line with a big hook at the end. What's a thoughtless hunter-he's a killer. He kills at any time of the year and any animate object. He takes away, bit by bit, our natural heritage of wild life and forest beauty. What's a Sportsman conservationist? He has a feeling for his sport other than bloodthirst. He knows there's a time when hunting a species is for the welfare of its entire population. XVhile he's eliminating over-abundance, the Sportsman conservationist restocks to prevent extinction. Through the Sportsmen's Conservation Club, Mr. Chase has been trying to impress the ideals of sportsmanship and conservation and the rules of good hunting upon its members. The members stock fish in various streams in the area, take field trips, and learn the proper care and use of fire arms. It is hopeful that with such programs as these in our schools we will have a longer lasting forest reserve.

fuzlu trial Arts gfllb Surf boards, electronic kits, water skis . . . what teenager wouldn't like any one of these? Well, some Port teens decided to make their own. They joined the Industrial Arts Club and are now enjoying the finished product. The Industrial Arts Club was organized so that PJ. students might become more familiar with the arts of printing, wood-making, metal- working, leather craft, and electricity outside of the classroom. Members also get a chance to apply their new learned techniques and create products which they can enjoy long after they've left high school. At meetings members are able to discuss the correlation between their work in the shop and the work done in some of the many large manufacturing plants in the United States. They also see industry in action by visiting factories in the Tri-States area. Left to rightg first row-Mr. Gillings, advisory F. Babcock C Chant J Wulff C Popstem J Cuddv B Eagan D Martin M.
