PORT JERVIS HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL JULIUS SYLVIA A person at the head of the school who sets the policies and tones which we are to follow. This is the principal. To an extent, his philosophies are re- flected through the, teachers to the student. This makes him perhaps the most influential individual in our school. The Vice-Principal, the disciplinarian, has prob- ably one of the most difficult jobs. But then again, Happiness is smiling from behind your desk as you give detention. Zzczzlfy Crack! He's at it again with that meter stick.! Pauvre bebe accuracy of recall!!', I must monitor feeding time at the zoo! So it is in the day of a PJ. student. Daily we must cope with these idiosyncrasies of our beloved faculty members. Being human, they also have their off-days and these, too, we must grin and bear. Then, we hear, I think people of your age are deprived of the responsibility you're capable of handling, or that's the stuff, keep plugging! These are the words we'll keep longest in our mind. We can use the traditional pet names behind their backs and oc- casionally show indignity at having to follow certain requests or do that stupid homework assignment. Still, we'll see the gain eventually, and when we get all flustered because we can't do it , we'll hear that persistant tempus fugit! and we'll remember it with'a new perspec- tive.
