Co-Editors porter , then as a feature Jeri Norman has worked editor , and the past sem- q[j yjg Lighthouse for three ester, as a co-editor. years. She has served as a reporter, a page editor, and a business manager before becoming an editor. The LIGHTHOUSE, Port Huron High School’s newspaper, has been published since 1922. For the past semester the paper has served both high schools. North- ern will establish a separate paper next year. Journalism classes cover school news each week for the TIMES HERALD in addition to publishing the LIGHTHOUSE. Each year the TIMES HERALD awards summer scholarships to college work- shops to outstanding staff members. Staff members who meet the member- ship requirements for Quill and Scroll, an international honorary journalism or- ganization, are elected annually. The LIGHTHOUSE is also actively af- filiated with the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association and The Columbia Scho- lastic Press Association. They strive to improve the quality of scholastic journal- ism through publications, workshops, and critical evaluations. cNCHA- ' JT? 28 Industrious workers like this group of students made the Class of 65 J-Hop a success. h§ p The students enjoyed dancing in the Crossing over the bridge into the land of enchantment are Betty Veen, William R. Smith, James Paulson, and Stephanie Walker. Enchanted Evening “Some Enchanted Evening” was the theme for the J-Hop presented by the Class of ’65. The dance, which took place on April 24, had a storybook setting with fairy tale characters. The Steering Committee and Class members, along with the delightful music of Bob Berber, made “Some En- chanted Evening” an evening to remember. Decorations were planned and carried out by Chairmen: Paul Blackney, Robert Willmarth, Ann McIntyre, Therese Nault, Pamela Haugner, and Peggy Bishop. Special mention for their art work is given to Terry Sargent and Karen Menti. The Refreshment Committee was headed by Maril) ! Kemp and was under the advisement of Miss Loretta Blackburn and Mrs. Catherine Brown. All arrange- ments were coordinated by Mr. Lawrence Miller and his assis- tant Mr. Robert Joyner. 9?
