Port Huron Northern High School Port Huron Northern has been cited as one of the ten best-planned schools in the nation. Mr. Overly pointed out its unique design to students touring the school before its opening. Mr. Overly heads new In 1962 Mr. James Overly came to Port Huron from Grass Lake, Michigan, where he had been a teacher and a principal. Here at Port Huron High he served as assistant to the principal for two years before being appointed Principal of Mr. James Overly Principal P.H.N.HS. Port Huron Northern High School in spring, 1964. Since then he has worked hard for a smooth transition to the new school and has enthusiastically taken over duties as Principal at PHN.

Superintendent and board work to Superintendent of Schools Gerald C Bradley Gerald C Bradley, an active member of several state and na- tional education programs, as well as local community better- ment projects, has been our Superintendent of Schools since July, 1963. Mr. Bradley came to Port Huron in 1951 as assistant superintendent and secretary- treasurer. He has participated in two building programs and the annexation program that increas- ed Port Huron High’s enrollment from 7,000 to 14,000. June 30, 1965 will end Mr. Bradley’s forty years of public school work. We are grateful for his service in the Port Huron Area Schools and wish him well in his retirement. Mr. Bradley, who has devoted his time and talents for better education in the Port Huron area, talks with some high school students in front of the Administration building.
