Anastasia ” “Take five,” was rarely heard by the thirteen-member cast rehearsing “An- astasia,” presented December 13 and 14 at McMorran Auditorium. The story of Anastasia, sole survivor of the royal family during the Bolshevik Revolution, makes exciting drama. Anna, a peasant girl lost in the midst of amnesia, is persuaded by three men to change her identity to that of her Imperial Highness Princess Anastasia Nicholaevna. The men bring the Dowager Empress, who was once the Mother of the Czar of Russia, to meet the girl in hopes that the two would recognize each other. One woman fumbles with half awakened memories, the other fights against the opening of old wounds. The leading characters were Kathleen Collins, Martha Ammerman, Carl Miller, John Stimson, and Allen Drescher. Susan Philko was the Student-director and Mr. Charles Lutz was Faculty Advisor. “Why won’t you accept me?” pleads Anastasia (Martha Ammer- man) to the Empress (Kathleen Collins). “But this is not an asylum!” Petrovin (John Stimson) assures Anastasia (Martha Ammerman). 25
