Participation in school activities When students from the northern area of Port Huron leave after a morning school session, afternoon students from the southern area arrive for the homeroom period which begins at 12:35. The student, because of his youth is full of life. He is eager to experience new things, to share his joy with others, and to spend ex- citing moments with his class- mates, He is thrilled by com- petitive games. He is moved by a small child’s actions. He strives to succeed. He is proud of the accomplishments of his contem- poraries. In order to give the student an opportunity to use this energy and enthusiasm construc- tively, the school provides numer- ous outlets. It is certain that behind every school play, club, project, or athletic event there is that vigorous force of the student. Excitement, disappointment, concentration, and good sportsmanship are all part of the game to the student. 12
