Spanish Club — Muenos Dias! i 2 r. The members of the Spanish Gub hold one of their informal meetings. The Spanish Club had an exciting year. They threw a party early in the year and invited the French Club. A candy sale during the lunches expanded the treasury and provided enough money to sponsor a Spanish film which was the highlight of their activities. Teacher sponsor is Mr. Sarnacki. Teacher sponsor is Mr. Sarnacki. Kim and Terry conduct a regular meeting of the French Club. Shown here are some members of the club who helped paint the Halloween window at Ardens’. Their theme was a french brewery. French Club started the year off early and entered the annual window painting contest downtown. They placed second in their division. They sponsored bakesales to raise money. In the poster contest, their entry was among the best. In the next years they hope to sponsor many outings including many french restaurants and films. 25

{journalism — Cougar Chronicle” Above, Mr. Pierce, Celeste DeRocher, Miss Ballard, and Lynn Burney admire the newly acquired Quill and Scroll certificate received in February. Celeste and Lynn are joint editors of the Cougar Chronicle. The year started off with the student body naming the new paper. Out of all the great suggestions, the name “Cougar Chronicle”. All through the year improvements were made. A new system of printing the pictures was used, a new camera was purchased, and a new masthead was used. In February, the Quill and Scroll was awarded to the journalism activities which include the paper and yearbook. Jeff, Janet, and JoAnne discuss journalism issues with Mr. Wismer.
