Class Hzstory We started our Freshman year w1th fourteen members, but after three weeks two mem bers Charlotte Scovllle and Herbert Leese left A class meet1ng was called for the pur pose of electlng our off1c1ers Charles Lohrman, presldent Ken Fr1edland v1ce pres 1dent Irene Schubrlng secretary Davld Schultz, treasurer,were chosen We also chose our class flower, a carnat1on Our class sponsor was Mrs Gudakunst After several weeks of hard work we were rudely 1nterrupted by an announcement of 1mt1at1on, but fortunately we all surv1ved The n1ght of 1n1t1at1on we were g1ven an enjoyable party by the Sophomores 1n the gymas1um where we danced and had refreshments In return we gave them a Roller Skatlng Party to show our apprec1at1on Our sophomore year was started by electlng off1cers whxch were as follows pres1dent, Allene L.aw1tzke v1ce pres1dent, V1rg1n1a Schave secretary, Wade R1nk treasurer Mar1lyn F1nkel After a month of hard work we in1t1ated the freshmen That n1ght we gave them a party at the school Our act1v1t1es to ra1se money were selhng cook1es candy, and gum presmdent, Allene Lawmtzke v1ce pres1dnet, Ken Fr1edland secretary V1olet Kesterke treasurer Marjorle 'rider Class sponsor was Mrs Ruth Sm1th Class motto was chosen as Dest1nat1on, Success The classpart1c1patedw1th the senlor class of 54 1n a magaz1ne campa1gn As the trad1t1on of Port Hope Hlgh School, the Jumor class gave the .Tumor Semor Banquet and Prom on Aprll 30 at the Hotel Port Hope The f1rst Meetlng our semor year we elected the follow1ng off1c1ers pres1dent, Allene L,aw1tzke vrce pres1dent, Wllbert Leese secretary V1olet Kesterke treasurer, Mar Jor1e Ender Our advlsors are Mr Stall and Mr Rogers The f1rst bxg event of our semor year was an Amateur Show g1ven at the Lutheran Gymas1um, whlch was a b1g suc cess The annual bake sales g1ven by the semors have helped tremendoulsy 1n ra1s1ng our funds We are hopefully look1ng forward to our graduatlon day Comphm ents of Port Hope Sales Harry s Bar B B Scott Mom's Dau-y Bar Port Hope Harbor Beach 13 I , .
