“Of course, we had to be initiated--a custom which is the annual Freshmen Memoirs When school onened on Sentember 3, our worthy HUoner Classmenn welcomed C?D into this institution thirty-five green, trembling little Freshmen, One of the first things we did after we got our Ubalanceu was to hold elections. Don Tyler was elected oresident. For vice- oresident we chose Darlene Yumma. Charles Johnson was elected secretary and Joan Haskins, treasurer. Gwen Evans was chosen to reoresent us on the Student Council and Hr. HOffluDd WHS OUT Class Soonsor. , We were made dread of in-coming Freshmen by our superiors, esoeciall we had to, did what they to them all seventh neriod in gave us a oarty which made too bad and the Soohomores us realize high very uncomfortable y those Sophomores. Ne said what ld us to do, and even had to obey the gym. But in the evening they school wasn't too- really quite human. The school had its annual Hhagazine Subscriotionn selling con- test, which we Freshmen lost. As a nenalty, we had to give the whole school a oarty. Committees for this oarty were: Refresh- ments-Marilyn Strandgard, Hary Noah, Joan Haskins, Lois Pannell and Gwen Evans. Decorations-Luanne Frits, ine Bumo, Catherine Skelton, Bob Saunders, Lorraine Love, Lor- Chuck Johnson, and Bill Gilbert. Program-Carol Hermes, Beverly Dailey, Lola Pan- nell, and Gladys Peterson, About this time of the year Len Howard, Roger Allison, Glenn Martin, and Bill Nickerson left us. Len began work at Inter- national Harvester, Roger is at home, Glenn Martin moved to Iowa, and Bill Nickerson went to Coal Valle Y. It wasn't long after this that Harland Shannon from Koline, Lyle Peterson from Genesco, and Jack Falls from Thomson joined us. Lyle stayed with us only four months and then returned to Gcneseo. Our class now numbered thirty-three. We gave four skits during the year.
